About The Cause

Through YMCA Proms @ the Park, YMCA seeks to promote corporate social responsibility by matching corporations with voluntary welfare organisations for an outdoor concert and picnic, with the aim of bringing cheer to the beneficiaries through various performing arts and interaction with volunteers in a carnival-like setting. YMCA Proms @ the Park also allows corporations to experience and embrace corporate volunteerism by mobilising their staff to volunteer for a day in serving the less privileged.

In 2016, some 2,000 participants including beneficiaries, volunteers, YMCA staff, performers and members of the public participated in the event which was held at Victoria Theatre Hall, Empress Lawn on 16 July 2016.

Since its introduction in 2007, 110 organisations have stood up for corporate citizenship by participating in the annual YMCA Proms @ the Park. Collectively, they mobilised over 2,300 staff to befriend and bring cheer to 3,600 beneficiaries from more than 190 VWOs through the event. Many of these organisations have continued to mobilise their financial and manpower resources to impact lives among the beneficiaries on a regular basis through other community service programmes organised by YMCA of Singapore.

YMCA will be organising YMCA Proms @ the Park 2017 on 22 July 2017 at Asian Civilisations Museum.
