Supervisor, Kindergarten Care Centre (KCC)

You will be responsible for the smooth operations of the Centre, and in meeting the student enrolment targets and profit goals. You will ensure that a safe and conducive environment is provided for the preschool children.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement the weekly schedule and programme(s) for preschool children in accordance with the Kindergarten Care guide
  • Observe lessons being conducted in the classrooms and provide necessary feedback to Programme Staff on pedagogy and lesson delivery
  • Plan holiday field trips and ad-hoc activities
  • Plan and manage the staff scheduling, to ensure the staff to child ratio is maintained at all times, including transition periods
  • Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of all furniture, furnishings, fittings, equipment and play resources
  • Work with external stakeholders on menu plans, teaching resources, survey evaluation results and make contingency plans.
  • Responsible for financial reporting, receipts and expenses
  • Responsible for staff management and child-parent matters
  • Ensure that the Centre premises are clean, hygienic and well-maintained at all times

Supervisor, Student Care Centre (SCC) 

You will be responsible for leading a team of Student Care Centre staff in the operations and management of daily after-school activities for primary school children based on YMCA’s student care programmes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall planning, Centre operations and staffing
  • Attend to Student-Parent matters with regards to activities, policies, enrolment, student’s academic and behavioural attitudes and achievements
  • Supervise activities such as field visits and group discussions to stimulate students’ interests and broaden the understanding of their physical and social environment
  • Involved in staff selection, development, delegation of duties and performance
  • Prepare periodic reports on student enrolment, expenses, manpower, training, etc

Requirements:

  • Minimum diploma in a relevant discipline
  • At least 3 years’ experience in similar capacity, preferably in a student care/tutoring environment
  • Passionate and able to work with young children between 7-12 years old
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • PC literate
Chinese Teacher, Child Development Centre (CDC)

You are responsible for planning and providing opportunities for children to acquire necessary knowledge, skills and dispositions through an integrated and holistic curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the classroom environment including pre-activity set-ups. Ensure classroom materials are of good quality and are adequate in supply
  • Manage children between 18 months to 7 years old and provide high levels of interaction to promote critical thinking and positive attitudes towards learning
  • Supervise activities such as field visits and group discussions to stimulate interest and broaden understandings of their physical and social environments
  • Prepare lesson plans in line with the curriculum developed according to the MOE Curriculum Framework for Kindergartens to provide multiple experiences and social interactions
  • Demonstrate and use audio-visual teaching aids to present subject matter to the class when necessary
  • Observe and monitor how and what children are learning and use the information to create new learning opportunities for children
  • Observe and monitor how and what children are learning and use the information to develop children’s developmental profile

Programme Staff, Kindergarten Care Centre (KCC) 

Your role includes ensuring safety and health standards, handling emergencies, setting up specially designed environments and implementing the Kindergarten Care Centre’s programmes based on the Kindergarten Care Guide provided by the Authorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the setting up of specially designed environments including pre-activity set ups. Ensure the programme materials are in good quality and adequate in supply

Mentor, Student Care Centre (SCC) 

You will be responsible for implementing and supervising all aspects of daily teaching and development activities for children enrolled in the Student Care Programme.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare lesson contents and teaching environments
  • Supervise activities to achieve developmental objectives
  • Daily administration – attendance, grade records, health and safety, etc
  • Maintain order in classrooms and on the playground
  • Implement creative ideas, activities, and stimulating lessons and encourage students’ participation in classroom activities
  • Address and counsel student behaviour as needed
  • Maintain an appropriate atmosphere of safety, learning, and fun, in line with YMCA’s philosophy

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum O Level English Grade C6 or equivalent
  • Student care / tutoring experience is advantageous

Cook-cum-Cleaner

You will be responsible for the daily cleaning and the preparation of the food and beverages at the Centre.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily Cleaning:

  • Ensure that excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained on the kitchen, kitchen equipment, dining room area, food storage areas and toilets
  • Daily cleaning of dishes and utensils, shower rooms, toilets and floor

Food Preparation:

  • Collect the food and beverages for meals and tea breaks from licensed caterer
  • Assist with the distribution of food to the children
  • Store food appropriately

Regular Maintenance:

  • Disinfect toys
  • Dust and clean windows and fans (without climbing)
  • Wipe refrigerator and keep the inside neat and clean

Requirements:

  • WSQ Food Hygiene certification is advantageous
  • Able to communicate in simple English
Cook, Y Café

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking food based on menu and customer requirements, and maintaining hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, dining areas and food storage areas, including that of equipment
  • Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking – including washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding vegetables or fruits for use, and butchering products including chicken, fish and shellfish
  • Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption; adjusting relevant controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
  • Observe and test foods being cooked, and assist in carving meats, portioning food on serving plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes
  • Ensure cooking and plating standards are maintained to customer satisfaction 

Requirements:

  • Culinary training certification is preferred
  • At least 2-3 years experience in restaurant or café setting
Assistant General Manager, Programmes 

Under the direction of the Programmes General Manager (GM), the Assistant General Manager (AGM), Programmes, is the second in command and oversees the effective and efficient internal management of the Division’s operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-lead with the GM to drive and deliver the Division’s new strategies, which are appropriately supported with good project management disciplines and assessment of impact
  • Support the development of a culture that encourages high levels of motivation and performance and evaluates progress against goals and values of the organisation. Establish collaboration opportunities within the organisation across the teams to leverage on each others’ expertise and resources
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures. Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth and provide leadership to heads of departments/senior/managers to achieve the goals. Work with them to develop annual budgets and operating plans, key performance indicators, and helping departments deliver measurable, cost-effective results that are aligned with organisation strategic objectives. Ensure project deliverables are met within schedule, budget, safety and regulatory approval
  • Develop and lead the implementation of effective, fit-for-purpose, core business processes, including processes which need to be run in coordination with other departments or organisations with whom we are in a formal partnership
  • Lead marketing and fundraising efforts through a diversified mix of grants, individual, corporate and major donor giving to achieve annual fundraising targets
  • Responsible for directing the Division’s operations in assigned areas and performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the General Manager

Requirements:

  • Recognised degree in business/marketing, with at least 8 years of experience in a leadership role where experience in the non-profit sector will be desirable
  • Strong business acumen and a marketing/marketing communication background are required

Senior Executive, Finance and Controls 

You will report to the Head of Student Care/Kindergarten Care. The selected candidate is responsible in ensuring compliance with the Department’s financial processes and controls.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Routine communication with Business Units (BU) relating to financial close, issues and deliverables
  • Cross train other staff
  • Perform daily checks and approvals of Centres’ expenditure claims
  • Analyse and interpret monthly financial reporting and control
  • Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations for monthly financial reports
  • Review existing and new policies, processes and standards, controls and documentation governing the financial operations of the Department
  • Prepare and review budgets and variance reporting
  • Carry out special projects to improve process efficiency and performance
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and other ad-hoc projects

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience

Youth Worker, Project Bridge 

The Youth Worker is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programmes for youths in the community. He/she will consult with youths and organizations that represent youths to determine their needs and develop programmes in response to those needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Research and develop programmes

  • Assess the programme requirement of youths in the community
  • Communicate with youths to determine their needs and interests
  • Communicate with organisations that represent youths to determine needs and interests of youths
  • Research funding sources and project requirements
  • Access funding and prepare funding proposals
  • Ensure a variety of sport, recreation and other programmes/activities are planned and implemented
  • Ensure programme information is available
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes
  • Identify areas where new programmes are needed

Plan and implement activities

  • Schedule activities, facilities and volunteers as required
  • Supervise and lead activities for youths
  • Recruit, train and oversee youths or volunteers

Promote youth programmes

  • Ensure that youths, schools, youth organisations and other social services are aware of available activities

Social Worker, Project Bridge 

Responsible for the implementation, development and overall directions of the department’s outreach work for youths at-risk and out-of-school youths.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Programmes

  • Coordinate regular and ad-hoc programmes and/or projects
  • Facilitate approved programmes through a planned/structured manner that is aligned to YMCA’s core values
  • Conduct briefing to volunteers and/or visitors participating in the programme
  • Conduct training and group works to help the youths to cope with major life transitions, acquire information and/or skills and to improve social relationships
  • Organise industry visits, outings, camps, fundraising activities and volunteerism for and with the youths
  • Develop programmes and conduct programme evaluations regularly

Collaboration Work

  • Coordinate with other agencies and/or community support groups to assist youths
  • Liaise with schools, parents, volunteers, vocational schools/training centres and partnering companies to support youths

Casework

  • Provide casework management for the individual
  • Provide youths with information about services that can assist them
  • Maintain up-to-date case recording
  • Provide letters of referral or social reports that will help youths obtain other services
  • Facilitate multi-agencies case management if necessary
  • Undertake crisis or home visits when required

Administrative

  • Provide statistical and monthly/quarterly reports for submission to HQ and respective sponsors
  • Ensure up-to-date record of “coded forms” and master database
  • Provide administrative and logistic support for training and programmes

You will work closely with the HR & Admin department to assist in HR functions including recruitment and providing support in different aspects of HR.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process including screening CVs, scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates
  • Ensure the smooth process of onboarding and offboarding, including preparation of staff’s employment documents, conducting orientations and exit interviews, etc
  • Participate and provide support in HR-related events like career fairs and staff welfare activities

Intern, Corporate Communications 

You will support the Corporate Communications department in all aspects and assist the General Secretary & CEO in driving the organisation’s media engagement efforts and providing corporate communications support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cover and report on major YMCA Events
  • Responsible for maintaining corporate brand guidelines in all communication materials across all departments in the organisation
  • Ensure timely production/submission/distribution of advertisements and collaterals
  • Plan and create digital marketing campaigns on social media
  • Guide the conceptualisation and designing of visual collaterals e.g. brochures, posters, EDMs
