YMCA Charity Movie Returns: Premiering THE GARFIELD MOVIE in Partnership with Sony Pictures

On 18 May 2024, the YMCA Charity Movie lit up GVMAX @ VivoCity with the exclusive premiere of THE GARFIELD MOVIE, made possible by our exceptional partnership with Sony Pictures. This collaboration brought families and friends together for a memorable evening while advancing our mission to empower youth-at-risk towards a brighter future.

Honouring us with her presence was our esteemed guest-of-honour, Ms Hany Soh, Member of Parliament for Woodgrove (Marsiling – Yew Tee GRC). Her presence underscored the significance of supporting our community initiatives. Guests were treated to a delightful selection of snacks and drinks, ensuring everyone enjoyed the premiere in comfort.

A heartfelt thank you to POP MART for their generous sponsorship of the Garfield Future Fantasy Series blind boxes and retail vouchers, adding an extra layer of excitement for our guests! The appearance of the beloved Garfield mascot was a standout highlight, especially for the children, creating unforgettable memories for all families involved.

We are thrilled to announce that the event successfully raised $60,564 in support of YMCA’s programmes. A heartfelt appreciation goes to our Platinum Sponsor, Nunchi Marine, for their impactful contribution, symbolised by a Token of Appreciation presented during the event. We also extend our gratitude to SLB Development and all our guests for their remarkable generosity and support.

The funds raised will empower youth with special needs and youth-at-risk through the YMCA Community Services Fund. This includes initiatives like the YMCA Vocational and Soft Skills Programme (VaSSP), which trains out-of-school youth and youth-at-risk in employability skills such as early childhood education and digital marketing. We deeply appreciate every contribution that is vital in helping these individuals achieve independent living and thrive in our ever-changing world.

Thank you for making a difference with the YMCA!
