Embracing Differences and Celebrating Abilities at YMCA’s Giving Gala 2023

The YMCA Giving Gala 2023 was nothing short of spectacular, as it brought together 170 guests, including corporate partners, sponsors, donors and clients, for an evening filled with warmth, compassion and the spirit of giving. Held at the iconic Raffles Hotel Singapore, this year’s Gala was truly a heartfelt reminder to embrace the unique differences and celebrate the remarkable abilities of our youth with special needs. The Gala was not just a gathering; it was a celebration of diversity and inclusion.

The generosity of our guests knew no bounds, as we collectively raised an astounding $170,800. These funds will be channelled to the YMCA Community Services Fund, which supports vocational training and social development programmes, empowering youth with special needs and youth-at-risk to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

We were honoured to welcome Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Social and Family Development, as our esteemed Guest-of-Honour. His presence added a touch of distinction to the event, emphasising the importance of community and youth support.

One of the most touching moments of the evening was an interview with the YMCA Special Needs Ambassadors. They shared their experiences of training for and conquering Mount Fuji as part of the YMCA Special Needs Inclusive Challenge. Their stories were a testament to the power of determination and the support they received from the YMCA, enabling them to conquer new heights and overcome all odds.

The Gala was not just about fundraising; it was also a night of delightful performances. The Vocalise String Quartet graced us with their beautiful music, delivering a wide repertoire of songs. Their performance truly tugged at our heartstrings.

The excitement of the evening reached its peak during the Raffle Draw. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the lucky winners of the raffle prizes sponsored by Ariston Group, Crystal Time, Fiamma located in Capella Singapore, Richemont Group and The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. Your support and participation in the raffle draw contributed significantly to our fundraising efforts.
