ABOUT YMCA GIVING GALA:

The YMCA Giving Gala is an annual fundraising dinner held in support of persons with special needs. It advocates for inclusivity by showcasing their potentials and serves as a platform for corporations and guests to interact with the special needs community personally. Proceeds go to sustaining and innovating YMCA Special Needs Programmes.

This year, it will feature various stories of special needs individuals and their accomplishments, a performance by the YMCA Special Talents, Arts and Recreation Society (Y STARS) and more!

OUR CAUSE:

YMCA Special Needs Programmes seeks to strengthen special needs individuals through holistic development. By challenging them to reach new heights, the programmes build their confidence, independence and self-esteem levels. These programmes empower them in daily living, employment, artistic development and social skills.

 This year, the first-ever YMCA Inclusive Climb saw 10 special needs clients attempt Mt Fuji. It was an admirable journey of self-discovery and served as a platform of advocacy to show themselves and the world that they were more “able” than they are “disabled”.
