Empower People with Disabilities to be Everyday Heroes
Christopher Reeve once said, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles”.
It is easy to define heroes as people who save the day, but some of the greatest heroes are those who find the strength to persevere and overcome challenges.
Empower our beneficiaries to look beyond their limitations and re-define what it means to be a hero by volunteering with us for Y Camp Challenge!
Y Camp Challenge is a 3 Day 2 Night camp which seeks to build self-confidence within Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through a variety of games and activities. It also gives their caregivers a much-needed break from their duties.
Our volunteer leaders have been hard at work making cards, props and other interesting things for the beneficiaries to interact with during the upcoming camp, which runs from 7 to 9 September at Ping Yi Secondary School.
“We are still looking for about 50 volunteers,” said YMCA’s staff in charge, Jasmine Teo. “It is quite a big commitment, but it is also very meaningful and will definitely change the way you see PWDs!”
Join us in journeying together with our beneficiaries. We need your involvement to make this camp a success. Sign up here: www.tinyurl.com/ycampchallenge.
