The YMCA Giving Gala 2018 was held on 22 October 2018 at PARKROYAL on Pickering.

For the first time, 19 YMCA of Singapore’s special needs staff and beneficiaries hosted the fundraising dinner together with our colleagues. Through serving in various roles as registration staff, ushers and cocktail reception waiters, they were at the frontline interacting with guests before joining them for dinner.

A photo and art exhibition was set up to feature artworks prepared by Y STARS (YMCA Special Talents, Arts and Recreation Society) and APSN Tanglin School beneficiaries. Selected special needs ambassadors were stationed at the exhibition to share their experiences and inspiration behind their creations. Beneficiaries from APSN Centre for Adults also honed their skills by baking cookies as door gifts for the guests.

Apart from the exhibition, performers from Y STARS opened the night with an energetic dance number.

Our Guest-of-Honour, Mdm Halimah Yacob, President of Singapore, officially launched the Y Arts Exhibition, where artworks crafted by Y Arts Challenge beneficiaries will be sold and displayed permanently at YMCA @ One Orchard Road.

Proceeds from the dinner will help to meet the expenses of running Y Camp Challenge, Y Arts Challenge, Y Food of Love, Y Dance Outreach and Y Outing.
