As a registered charity, your generosity will be channeled to fund the YMCA-Tan Chin Tuan Community Service Programmes and the YMCA Project Bridge for out-of-school youth and youths-at-risk.

The YMCA seeks to “touch lives and lift spirits” in the community through the YMCA-Tan Chin Tuan Community Service Programme, by actively mobilizing and engaging volunteers in active service to the community. We have chosen to champion and serve the intellectually challenged through the following programmes.

Y Visits: Befriending people with disabilities through meaningful activities held at VWOs.
Y Outings: Bringing beneficiaries for weekly outings to places of interest
Y Camp Challenge: Organised twice yearly for the physically and intellectually challenged, the camp provides opportunity for the beneficiaries to learn new skills through outdoor adventure and camping experiences.
Y Arts Challenge: Performing and visual arts are used as a platform to help intellectually challenged discover and nurture their hidden talents.
Y Green fingers: In collaboration with National Parks Board, this weekday programme allows volunteers and beneficiaries to jointly develop and nurture ornamental, herbs and spices and organic vegetable garden plots at selected VWOs.
Y Dance Outreach: Y volunteers will practice and choreograph dance movement and introduce it to the beneficiaries during their monthly dance workshops conducted at the VWOs.
Y Reading Clubs: Setting up of a reading room cum library at VWOs where volunteers read regularly with the beneficiaries.
Y Chorus: Y Chorus volunteers will conduct monthly visits to the selected VWOs where they will perform their repertoire of mixed songs and teach songs to the beneficiaries.
Y Nature Walk: Bringing the beneficiaries to nature reserves and selected parks to appreciate nature.
YMCA Project Bridge
Established in 1999, YMCA Project Bridge is a one-stop centre with programmes that cater to both out-of-school youths (OSYs) and youth-at-risk (potential OSYs).

The programmes aim to keep these youth out of harms way and in turn provides a bridge that draws them in, befriend them, believe in them, tune their conduct/attitude and help them to develop a sense of purpose in life, so that they make a commitment to return to mainstream schooling or seek skills to secure a livelihood when they become adults. Moulding them to become useful members of the community.
