Be a Wish Granter this Christmas season with YMCA!

This Christmas season, YMCA is conducting a "YMCA Fulfilling a Christmas Wish" project, which will be held over four weeks from
11 November to 12 December.
This project aims to fulfill 110 wishes from the needy elderly of
5 voluntary welfare organisations.
We are appealing to all YMCA members, volunteers and staff to fulfil the Christmas wishes of the beneficiaries as YMCA Wish Granters.
How can you be involved?
1. Click here to view the wish list.
2. Send your name, contact details, the wish that you want to help fulfil and its serial number to Melisa at melisa@ymca.org.sg
3. Shop for the wish item, capped at $50 per item.
4. Bring the wish item to the YMCA Member Services Centre at level 1, YMCA of Singapore by 12 December 2011. (Operating hours: Mon to Fri, 9am to 9pm, Sat 9am to 6pm)
5. Write a short Christmas message to the beneficiary on a Christmas gift tag provided and attach it to the gift.
*Kindly do not wrap your gifts for logistical and security reasons.

President Tony Tan is new Patron-in-Chief of the YMCA of Singapore |

On 27 October 2011, President Tony Tan, the 7th President of the Republic of Singapore, accepted the YMCA of Singapore’s invitation to assume the appointment of Patron-in-Chief of the Association.
Praise be to God for the strong endorsement of YMCA and our work in serving the community, by the highest office in Singapore.
God has once again provided greatly for the YMCA and we strive to be a "Channel of Blessing" to the community. Being His vessel, we will continue to put our faithfulness into action and spread His wonderful love for all mankind through deeds of touching lives and lifting spirits in all our programmes.

YMCA and NYAA sign Memorandum of Understanding |
The YMCA of Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Council on Friday, 28 October 2011 to establish a partnership in nurturing youth leadership development programmes in Singapore. This is the first MOU of its kind between NYAA Council and a non-uniformed organisation. [Read more]

YMCA President Stephen Loh appointed to Singapore Youth Award Selection Board (Community and Youth Services) |
Mr Stephen Loh, President of the YMCA of Singapore has been appointed to the Singapore Youth Award Selection Board (Community and Youth Services) for the term ending 30 September 2012. Chairing the Committee is Mr Eric Teng, Director and Immediate Past President, YMCA of Singapore.
The Singapore Youth Award is the highest youth accolade in Singapore. It aims to recognise and commend contributions made by youths who have excelled in their respective fields of endeavour as well as contributed back to the community.
We extend our heartiest congratulations to Mr Loh.

Mr S R Nathan to be conferred Honorary Life Membership with YMCA |
We are pleased to announce that Mr S R Nathan has kindly accepted the invitation to be a
YMCA Honorary Life Member.
Mr Nathan had taken a keen personal interest in the support of YMCA programmes since 2006 as then President of the Republic of Singapore and Patron-in-Chief of the YMCA of Singapore. His support has been a great endorsement of our work in serving the community and a source of inspiration for our members, volunteers and staff.

Y Treks: Gunung Lambak, Malaysia |
Standing at 510m above sea level and located 5km from the town of Kluang, Gunung Lambak is a popular trekking destination among locals. Even though the trek up is fairly short, the ascent is quite steep especially as you get nearer to the peak. With determination, any reasonably fit trekker can complete the trek in around 3 hours and enjoy a great view of Kluang Town.
