On 2 February 2011, YMCA School organised a Chinese New Year lunch and concert for students who did not travel home abroad for their family reunion during the holidays. Held annually, the celebration featured performances by various students and a buffet lunch catered by Y Café.
Over 80 YMCA School students, hailing from China, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attended the event this year. A third of the students were themselves involved in the talent concert, which featured group and duet vocal performances of popular English and Chinese pop hits, modern dances and mystifying magic performances. The students also participated in traditional Chinese riddle solving games.
Volunteers, teachers, management and staff of YMCA were among the invited guests.
