YMCA of Singapore would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to Uni-Y SMU as well as its members for attaining multiple accolades at the annual SMU University Student Life Awards and to YCS SUTD for bringing home the Humanitarian Awards (Group Category) at the SUTD ‘s Student Achievement Awards!

Namely we like to congratulate Lynette Chang Yu Bin for attaining the SMU Excellence in Student Life Gold Award (Special Interest), and Calvin Cher Wee Siang and Li Yuan for attaining the SMU Excellence in Student Life Bronze Award. Uni-Y SMU was also awarded the SMU Excellence in Student Life Silver Awards – Club (Special Interest). In the same vein, under SUTD’s Student Achievement Awards, YCS SUTD bagged the Humanitarian Award (Group Category) in recognition for their exceptional leadership and commitment towards the advancement of the welfare of the less fortunate in the community. The win is a form of recognition for the club’s efforts in 2017, just 2 years after inception.

Founded in 2005, Uni-Y SMU is the first Uni-Y club to have been started in Singapore. Since then, Uni-Y clubs have also been founded in NUS, NTU and SUTD (known as YCS SUTD), carrying out the mission of developing and empowering youth to be servant leaders who will impact both our local and international communities. Each Uni-Y adopts various YMCA Community Service Programmes such as Y Spring Clean and Y Visit. Being a part of Uni-Y also opens up multiple doors for learning and engagement for the students, such as overseas internships and service trips abroad.
