Serving the Community

For over a century, the YMCA of Singapore has been organising numerous service programmes, helping the physically and intellectually challenged to live a full and enriched life. The YMCA - Tan Chin Tuan Community Service Programmes seek to engage our members and volunteers in meaningful and purposeful activities that serve the community. The emphasis would be to provide opportunities to show love for the needy and serve the less fortunate in active and practical ways.

YMCA - Tan Chin Tuan Community Service Programmes

	Y Visits Held twice a month, on a structured basis you get to accompany beneficiaries and sit in during their classroom activities. You also help plan various enrichment activities for them including dance, baking and art & craft lessons..

	Y Outings Accompany our beneficiaries to fantastic places of interest and have a great time bonding with our mentally and physically challenged beneficiaries!

	Y Camp Challenge A great way to have fun and do something meaningful! Join in the Y Camp Challenge and help bring out the best in our beneficiaries.

	Y Reading Clubs Befriend our beneficiaries and help them improve their reading skills and general knowledge through this meaningful programme.

	Y Chorus Join in the sing-song sessions with our beneficiaries and have a great time!

	Y Nature Walks Volunteers can look forward to plan and organise activities during walks at parks and nature reserves.

	Y Green Fingers Volunteers with green fingers will be sure to have fun imparting their nifty gardening skills to beneficiaries.

	Y Dance Outreach This programme allows volunteers to perform and teach simple dance steps and for our beneficiaries through fun-filled, interactive dance choreography.

	Care to Dance Dance is used as a platform for youth to reach out to other youth and underprivileged children.

	Y Arts Challenge Dance, performing and visual arts are used as platforms to provide opportunities for the intellectually challenged to interact with mainstream youth.
